{Community} Bike Movement
Today I am writing from the beautiful city of San Francisco. The city always reminds me how much I want to be a part of a community that is truly focused on public & bike transportation. The focus of bikes in San Francisco always opens my eyes to the fabulous combination of fun & functionality. The bikes that can be found riding around are so specific to the rider for height, personality and strength.
I came across PUBLIC bikes and felt they captured the fun and functionality that can be found in bikes from Amsterdam to New York. Their bikes begin with the classic European frame and are made from a lightweight steel, and three gear configurations using internal hubs. These bikes range from $650-$1200.
I love the baby blue color of this one. Totally unisex, made for all shapes & sizes and especially female-friendly which is fantastic.
Another company I love is Velorbis bikes. Their bikes are also based on the timeless Dutch bike complete with mudguards. These bikes start at $1700.

Is your community public & bike transit friendly? How are you participating in the movement? Don’t be afraid to combine fun & functionality and explore all the bikes that are available these days. It will be great for the environment, your health and the community. -xx
reMade USA : Reclaimed Leather Bags
I found the most amazing company. I love leather. I love the smell, touch, durability and to me it is like gold. A simple luxury that I always splurge for. I can’t stand shoes that aren’t real leather. Why bother? These bags not only display amazing construction, they are gorgeous and made from scrap leather and clothing. A M A Z I N G. To top them off, the linings for the bags are made from vintage scarves. I am in love!
I can’t decide which one I love more. This Sonoma Bag would be perfect for a weekend getaway. Right?
While the Bernal Bag in brown would be perfect for client meetings.
Ah! Decisions. But then this one could be my everyday delight. The Ashbury Bag has just enough space and and in black would be perfect for everyday handling. Plus, look at the gorgeous silk scarf fabric used to line the inside! Lovely.
Well, I leave it up to you to decide which one you will ultimately get. But please save one for me! Read about their process and appreciate what goes into making each bag. Environmentally conscious, un-wasteful and completely gorgeous. What could be better? I know, owning your very own. Check out reMade. Did I mention they are an awesome San Francisco company as well? Kudos!
The Golden Age : King Tut
There is a long {and growing} list of reasons why I want to {and will} move to San Francisco. The culture of the city is high-ranking on my list and from June 27, 2009 – March 28, 2010 the de Young Museum will be displaying numerous works from the tomb of Tutankhamun; King Tut!
I have long had an obsession with mummies – mainly the coffins that enclose them. Those coffins are so detailed, elaborate, and luxurious. Mainly the pairing of gold and cool blues get my attention. Egypt and the whole Golden Age has always intrigued me, and with my obsession with gold in art and life, it seems perfect. They just look so gorgeous, so rich and so powerful. To top it off, the history of the creations in the exhibit date back to the 18th Dynasty (1555 – 1305 BC) and that blows me away.
This is just divine! I know I will be visiting San Franciso soon, and this will definately be one of my stops!
