{fashion stakeout} Ornate Accessories & Details
Yesterday, I paid a long overdue visit to my sweet cousin and Aunt. It is always such a pleasure because it reminds me of my roots and my mother’s family, which is always grounding. My Aunt Aurora gave me a sweet little gift. Take a look.
It is a turtle with jewel accents and is some heavy material, maybe pewter? Then it opens to this!
It is a fabulous vintage antique looking compact mirror. I know it is new, but I love the look of it. It is really small too, fits in the palm of my hand. I love it!
This reminded me my love of accessories. Sometimes accessories should be about details just to make them work. Don’t settle for some boring bangle or ring, jazz it up! Here are some vintage dressy jewelry I love. Pair them with some edgier pieces and they won’t feel so classy and not wearable for everyday use.
House of Harlow – Bangle
This bangle is 14KT gold-plated palladium and has some awesome patterned black stones and crystals all around. Even the side has a line pattern to add some contrast.
House of Harlow – Woman’s Large Key Cocktail Ring
This key really stands out all on its own. Wearing a vintage key design on a ring is so unexpected, it totally rocks.
House of Harlow 1960 Gold Peacock Feather-Enameled Locket Pendant
This locket uses enamel and diamond-shaped cutouts to really create an homage to the peacock feather without being so in your face peacock, which has been so wrongly done by so many designers. This is subtle and just enough.
Dress it up! What are some of your favorite accessories? -xx

Thanks so much to Sarah at TRUE Event for featuring and complimenting the Peacock Note Cards I designed for her company on her blog! It was truly a pleasure working with her!

TRUE Event Personalized Peacock Stationery
I had the pleasure of creating some custom stationery letterhead for Sarah at TRUE Event. TRUE Event is a creative team of two {Sarah True and Lucinda Wesson of Chocolate Creative Design) who coordinate events from beginning to end. She found me on Etsy and from there we embarked on creating her some gorgeous custom stationery. It was a pleasure and great experience to work with her and I am so stoked the stationery turned out beautifully! They are printed on white linen card stock and come with kraft envelopes. After some shipping issues I have sent out the final package to Sarah this morning. This is what she will receive:
I can’t wait to work with Sarah again!

Peacock Feather Wedding Invitation Set
Peacocks are a symbol of beauty that evoke class and sophistication. Today, the peacock feather is found in fashion as earrings or more permanently as a tattoo. Either way just gorgeous! Here is where my inspiration began. Thanks to the creative kids at Polyvore.com for this, especially jules18:
