Gray & Green Dandelion Wedding Invitations with Pockets

Right now my Signature Collection designs are only available through me or from Trini at NOZZA Studio who has my Signature Collection book at her studio. When Trini has a client interested in one of my designs she instantly suggests incorporating a pocket or some sort of additional element from Envelopments or other sources to make it an even more custom design to the client.

Nathan Nowack is a fantastic wedding photographer that came to Trini and chose my Purple Reign design from my Signature Collection. She played with palettes and chose colors that worked perfectly for him and his fiancée Allison. Then, she added more customizations which included an Anvil pocket card and Wasabi green envelopes from Envelopments. This is a great example of how any of my designs can be semi-custom by changing the colors to match your event perfectly!

This ultra chic design is inspired by clean lines and a love of greens with accent charcoal grey and black. The delicate dandelion graphic is vamped with bold hues of green and paired with bold typography. The contrast of a vibrant green paired with subtle lighter green make this suite reign above the rest!

This suite included:
• Wedding Invitation & printed envelopes
• Wedding RSVP Card & printed envelopes
• Additional Card: Things to do in LA
• Map & Registry Info Card
• Envelopments pocket

Specs:
• Pocket Card: Envelopments in Anvil Charcoal Grey
• Envelope in Envelopments Wasabi Green (printed)
• Digitally printed on Ecru linen card stock

{Styled Chic No. 1} Colors: Purple Reign Invitations

If you tuned in last week, you saw I will be posting a new design series called Style Chic. Last week, I presented a photo as inspiration. Often times, a room in a couples house is a true insight on their personality, and they normally don’t look there! Try and pull away from magazines such as The Knot or Martha Stewart Weddings that tell you what kind of couple you are. Look to each other as inspiration for something truly unique. For this Style Chic No. 1, I took this totally hip and modern room shot from Crate & Barrel. Here is the photo from last week.

Style Chic No. 1 - Purple Reign Invitations

The wedding suite I designed consisting of an Invitation, belly band and RSVP card. I love working with different color palettes. I took the cream, black and purple tones as my palette. There are so many combination’s that can come from from this including the silver from the wall, but I wanted something a little different. I also took the pattern from the pillow and incorporated it on the belly band. Perfect!

I created a custom monogram to layer on the belly band to really give some punch and brand the couple. I used an ivory cream linen card stock to add some richness and flat printed them. These could just as well be letterpressed! I would pair these with gorgeous ivory cream envelopes and a custom rubber stamp. *wink

The latest trend for Fall weddings is definitely going to include lots of purples. When choosing colors for your wedding or special event, the colors help convey the theme and really tie everything together. So you really want color combination’s that work and convey balance. Consider going monochromatic as well by using shades of one single color.

To most people, labeling a color with it’s well-known spectrum name invokes a similar image.  I like to be more specific and say raspberries, plums and wine instead of purple. Doesn’t that help you visualize totally different colors? Me too.

This Tux Leather Chair from Crate & Barrel is a beautiful plum purple.

Most of my clients look to conventional wedding magazines for their color palettes. I like to go beyond that. Looking at objects like this one can show you that color palettes and inspiration can be created from anything. I am going to be starting a new blog series titled, {Styled Chic}.  This will be sort of a design challenge for myself but it will really help my clients understand the capabilities of looking beyond The Knot magazine suggestions (*wink ). Think beyond the page and follow your own beat! Open your eyes and look around what inspires you and truly reflects you as a couple or brand. This will help capture the personalities of the company or couple’s special event. Then the design will be featured in my Etsy Boutique and a Signature Collection that can be purchased.

Here is the first challenge: Turn this space into an invitation. Room interiors can often really capture a couples personality. Photos of family, heirlooms and items bought while traveling. Colors also help capture this because they evoke feelings. This image definitely shows a chic couple that is on top of their game. Bold and graphic, modern and clean. I personally would not have such a light wood floor, but my challenge is to create an invitation and brand this couple, not redecorate their boudoir!
