Low Country Boil: The Mill Lounge
My friends Christina & Paul invited me to have some Low Country Boil at a local bar called The Mill Lounge. It is a traditional southern recipe that is often served to large groups. Everything is cooked (boiled) in a large pot with seasonings & butter, drained of the water and then poured onto a large table ready for everyone to help themselves. Yummy!
It was by far one of the most interesting things I have done in a very long time! Let me paint the picture for you. So, there is a deck in the back of the bar that was set up with a table and all the condiments you would need (lemons & cocktail sauce). The Low Country Boil consists of sausage, corn on the cob, shrimp, potatoes and this one actually had some crab! I will spare the details but, I will say the crab was not that good! But thanks for getting it for me Paul!

Low country boils are great food and wonderful fun shared with as many friends as you can pack around a picnic table. Best cooked in a large pot over an open fire, Prepare the table with layers of news paper, then paper towels and toped of with mom’s best white cotton dish towels. Dump fresh small red potato’s, corn on the cob cut into 3 inch long pieces, smoked sausage, shrimp and crayfish. Lots of paper towels to wipe hands and chins. Don’t for get koolaid for the kids and big pitchers of ice tea and beer for the adults.
